As I write this post, I have 4 days remaining of my annual leave. And so begins the mad panic to squeeze in all the jobs around the house, devote a little time to my hobbies and menu plan for next week.
But I’ve been thinking about how I can reengineer this thinking.
Why do we try to squeeze more out of life when we’re on holidays, but just go through the motions when we are in the work routine?
A couple of things I’m going to try this year:
A) Being more present when I’m not at work and making deliberate choices about how I spend my time (not doing things because that’s just how / when I always do them),
B) Scheduling time for me each day, even if it’s only 20 minutes.
C) Scheduling time for me and hubby once a week to focus on our passions,
D) Fiercely declutter. Give away, sell or toss things that are taking up space but not bringing fulfilment through need or desire.
Goal – Get more out of life every day rather than waiting for 4 weeks annual leave to come around.

That’s a start, right!
