You know what that means. It’s time to practice some mindfulness. I’m really not keen for dental work (nothing against dentists as such), so there are three things I’m going to do while I’m in the chair today…
1. Focus on my breathing. I’ll count my breaths and keep bringing my mind back to my breathing if it starts to wander.
2. Focus on my body. I’ll wiggle my toes, clench and release my hands, and slowly close and open my eyes.
3. Focus on grounding. I’ll use my senses: looking for 5 things I can see, 4 things I can touch, 3 things I can hear, 2 things I can smell, and 1 thing I can taste – urgh that terrible mouthwash!!!.
