What’s the most money you’ve ever spent on a meal? Was it worth it?
Or, like me, do you feel like you’re asking this question every time you go to the supermarket?
Everything is more expensive than it once was, and these days, it’s harder to make a budget meal that’s healthy, interesting (not the same old, same old), and loved by the whole family.
I prioritise protein, 2-3 vegetables, and a carb base like rice, noodles, or potatoes. It generally hits the spot appetite wise and gives us the nutrients we need. But invariably, the days of making a family meal for under $10 (that isn’t 2 minute noodles, pasta, or soup) is getting harder.
But at the end of the day, I cook for my family, and I think that’s worth it.
Be well, friends.
