The Second 50

I thought we were rich the day dad bought home our first computer.

We were able to dial into this thing called the internet. And we talked to people other than face to face and by phone.

I recall winning a competition.  $50. Can’t remember what it was for, but I do recall they sent a cheque by snail mail.

Game playing consisted of saving a girl from a dragon using long typed out commands. I spent hours on that.

And I have this strange memory of The Hobbit playing via a cassette.
